ABOUT

Don’t write what you know. Write what you know.

Merrily We Roll Along

A multi-faceted writer and filmmaker, Taylor’s passion for writing began at just thirteen years old, when one of his first plays caught the attention of Broadway professionals. Since then, he has committed himself to a head-first exploration of storytelling that has resulted in one act plays, short films, and a feature documentary.

A lifelong theater kid with a degree in Film & Television, Taylor has taken part in all aspects of bringing a story to life—wearing the hats of stage manager, set designer, producer, and his favorites: writer, actor, and director. His favorite film genres are comedy, mockumentaries, and coming-of-age films, which carry over into his passion for heartfelt YA novels. In addition to the Young Adult genre, Taylor loves to write legal dramas, science fiction, LGBTQ narratives and historical fiction. When he’s not writing, he can be found devouring episodes of Suits and White Collar or mentally preparing for the next book in the Red Rising series.

A proud member of Phi Beta Kappa, Taylor is devoted to lifelong learning in everything he does. In between research and drafts of scripts and novels, he shares his endeavors on authortube, where he posts writing vlogs and advice videos. Currently, he is in the editing phase of a science fiction/fantasy novel and a YA Enemies to Lovers book. His latest work in progress is Project Cartomancy, an LGBTQ historical fiction book. He is excited to further his knowledge and abilities as he works towards his master’s degree in Publishing.

As a filmmaker, his favorite project has been “Amateur Actors Tell All,” a mockumentary about four misfits making their first short film. Inspired by years of watching The Office and studying satire, Taylor blended witty dialogue with improv to create a laugh-out loud short film. Principles of careful drafting, storyboarding, and directing have carried over into everything from vigilante shorts to his upcoming indie legal series. As a video editor, Taylor has worked on vertical and horizontal content, using iMovie, Premiere Pro and Final Cut Pro to shape stories through careful cuts, visual effects, and sound.

An aspiring screenwriter, playwright, and author, Taylor seeks to help businesses, brands, and magazines tell their stories while creating his own works for the stage, screen, and page. Whether it’s a blog post, video script, or developing entire universes, Taylor is eager to bring transformative narratives to life.
